Meet The Creators
Kassidy Neysmith & Cheyenne Desrosiers
Who are we?
- Members of Generation Z
- Up and coming filmmakers
- Active in social issues
- Interested in bringing attention to prevalent issues in our society
Kassidy and Cheyenne are driven high school students and amateur filmmakers who are aware of social issues present in society. When they are not documenting the world around them, they are studying, working at their respective jobs, and being involved in various academic and service-based pursuits.
Before starting the We Are Gen Z project, Kassidy created a project called ESS Magazine. Her main interests lie with social issues that pertain specifically to women. Cheyenne has worked on presentations concerning women's rights issues, one example being the gender pay gap. They both identify as feminists and stay-up-to date on women's rights issues. Recently, they attended the Women's March in Miami to advocate for women's rights.
As teenagers themselves, Cheyenne and Kassidy felt the need to focus their documentary on something that directly affects both themselves and their peers. The We Are Gen Z project focuses on combatting the negative portrayals of Gen Z in the media, and they are adamant about promoting more accurate representation of this age group that has much more to offer than is often presented.
Please contact the creators if you have any stories to tell or ideas to share!
